History

She was the daughter of planter Hugh Johnston (1762-1810) and his wife Sarah (Green) Johnston (1774-1848) of Largo plantation in Warren County, North Carolina. She later married William Green Jones (1791-1845) and lived at Kinderhook Plantation in Warren County. A walnut china press that belonged to her parents is also in the MESDA Collection (MESDA Acc. 4128).
