Description
The geography of this map was drawn primarily from Moll’s Carolina map published in 1729. However, this map does not extend as far inland and lacks the names of settlers. It does delineate the early Anglican parishes of North and South Carolina. This probably reflects the fact that this map was originally bound into an Anglican religious tract. The inset in the lower right corner of this map is similar to the inset Moll used on his 1715 Dominions map.
DESCRIPTION: Map of coastal North and South Carolina, depicts cities, waterways, counties, parishes, and islands labeled, and a scale. Lower right hand corner has an inset of Charles town area. Map is highlighted in yellow, green, and red.
REFERENCE: Cumming, The Southeast in Early Maps, 209.
