History
The painting was tied up in an estate for seventy years. It was bought from Joe Kindig of York, Pennsylvania thirty-seven years ago.
Subjects
Byrd Family Member __The portrait is either Maria Taylor Byrd, second wife of Colonel William Byrd; or, his daughter, Evelyn Byrd, from his first wife. __The artist, Charles Bridges, was born in England and worked in and around Virginia c. 1735-40.
