Subjects
“A Full View of Deadrick’s Hill” __This earliest known view of Jonesboro shows the hill named for David Deadrick, who came to Tennessee from Winchester, Virginia in 1783 and became Jonesboro’s first prominent merchant. His general store on Main Street appears in the left above it. The building in the right foreground has the name Anderson over the door and presumably belonged to the man for whom the picture was done.
