The portrait descended in the Lee family of Fairfax County, Virginia.
Subjects
Mrs. William Fitzhugh (nee Ann Lee Randolph) __The subject lived at “Chatham,” Stafford County, Virginia, near Fredericksburg. She married circa 1783. (There are inconsistancies with the dates; perhaps, this is another member of the Fitzhugh family. __See Craftsman Database and MESDA’s photographic files for information on the artist, John Hesselius.
