Subjects
Colonel John Tayloe I (1687-1747) __a member of the Colonial Council from 1732 until his death. He had large holdings in Charles county, Maryland (Nanjemoy”), Essex county, Virginia (Gwynnfield”), and Prince William county, Virginia (Neabsco”)not far from present day Quantico of Dumfries. He married Elizabeth (1692-1745), S-4302, daughter of David Gwynn and widow of Stephen Lyde.
