Alterations-Condition
Cleaned, relined, crackle throughout; repainted at cheeks and bosom.
Sign/Marks
label on bottom left of frame __”BETTY TAYLOE/TWIN SISTER OF JOHN TAYLOE II/PAINTED BY BRIDGES” Since the name Bridges appears on a plaque on the frame, it was decided to attribute the portrait to an unknown artist.
Subjects
Betty Tayloe 1721-1784 __Daughter of John Tayloe I (S-4300) and twin sister of John Tayloe II; married her cousin Col. Richard Corbin of Laneville, King and Queen county, Virginia.
