Half length portrait of a man wearing a grey jacket trimmed in gold and a white peruke with pigeon wings, tied with a bow. His right hand is tucked in the lapel of his waistcoat; his head is turned to his left shoulder and he looks upward. Dark hat under left arm, no hands showing.

The frame is not original. __The stretchers are appropriate for the eighteenth century and there are remnants of a newspaper (written in the French language) between the canvases.
