Gray Briggs b. 1732 __The subject was the son of Captain Howell Briggs and Lucy Gray Briggs. He was born in 1732 at “Wales,” Dinwiddie County, Virginia. He married Dorothy Pleasants of Curle’s Neck, Virginia. Gray Briggs was a member of the House of Burgesses from 1754-1758 and a lawyer. He retired at “Wales.” __See wife’s portrait, S-3120.
