Description:
DESCRIPTION: Neoclassical writing arm Windsor chair with gold classical painted decoration over grained ground; the deep tablet crest, slat, and tablet on stretcher are all decoratively painted; the crest with Grecian scrolls centering a bowl of fruit surrounded at top and sides with a border of acorns; center slat with more delicate scrolls and leaves and stretcher tablet with anthemians on each side and a stylized flower in the center; the whole with gilt line embellishments; ring turned front legs terminating in ball feet; plank seat with rectangular support for writing arm jutting from left side; paddle writing arm is supported by two turned posts at front and split spindle; split spindles support a scrolled arm on the opposite side.
