DESCRIPTION: Cast iron stove plate made from a mold for a 10-plate side stove plate, decorated with urns and other neoclassical scroll work.

DESIGN: The pattern for this stove plate had a separate insert so that it could also be used for casting side plates for ten-plate stoves. The plate stoves had wrought iron doors hinged to each side plate.

INTIALS: It is thought that the initials AB stand for Andrew Bear, who had an interest in the furnace.
