Description:
DESCRIPTION: White cotton bedcover appliqued and quilted with a small red print calico worked in designs of thistles. The whole ground then quilted in intricate floral and geometric designs. Bedcover conists of 3 panels, two of which are each one piece and one which is made up of 2 pieces, all sewn together (side panel is 26″ wide; center panel is 31 3/4″ wide, and side is 31″ wide); border consists of 6 pieces which is about 5 1/2″ wide including the white binding. Quilt has cotton batting/filler.

There is a dominant princess feather motif as the center medallion of the quilt with reverse applique featured within the center star. Thistles emerging from vases, also featuring reverse applique, are located in the four corners. The entire composition is bordered in a chintz fabric.
