Description:
DESCRIPTION: Walnut inlaid miniature chest with wrought iron strap hinges and molded till; four small turned feet, approximately 1 1/16″ in height are doweled into the bottom of the chest; the corners are dovetailed; applied molding along the bottom and top sides and front, which are nailed into place; a small iron trigger is located on the bottom-center, when moved locked the chest; the back has no decoration; the top is inlaid with tulips; the side is inlaid with an eight pointed star; the front is inlaid with tulips, date of 1763 and initials “IB”.
