Description:
This print is based on a painting or drawing by Joshua Shaw. Shaw, born in England in 1777, came to Philadelphia in 1817, and traveled throughout the South making sketches and taking subscription for a series of American views.

DESCRIPTION: Hand tinted aquatint. Birds fly over the land and water, and six ships are present in the far distance. They sail on the horizon, and their reflections are visible in the water. A boat in the foreground of the bay has numerous human figures all around it. There is also another ship on the right in the water. Clouds are visible in the sky.
