Description:
Lead-glazed earthenware jar, high gloss brown in color with an unusual double lipped mouth, two molded strap handles applied at the sides, and a row of incised linear decoration around the shoulder.

MAKER: This piece is attributed to an as-yet unidentified potter working in early Greene County, Tennessee. Its incised decoration is similar to the later work seen by Francis Schaffer and Christopher A. Haun.
