Description:
DESCRIPTION: Food safe: Two upper doors, each with one punched tin panel above one wooden panel, tin panels decorated with central compass star and various curved patterns; two lower paneled doors; sits on applied bracket feet; has stacked cornice molding.

CONSTRUCTION: Shelf placement has been slightly altered to accommodate pottery now exhibited in the safe.

History:
This food safe was discovered in Halifax County, Virginia, and thought to have been found in the original house for which it was made.
