DESCRIPTION: Pair of brass andirons.
History:
STYLE: The carryover of the claw-and-ball-foot base from the earlier Chippendale style is frequently found in andirons of this period. The tapered shafts and urn finials are classic in style. Note the unusual bud motif surmounting the finials and the chased rural scene on the plinths.
