The author John Harris first published his “…Complete Collection of Voyages…” in 1705. Beginning with the 1744-48 edition a new chapter with a history of Georgia was added. This map was created to accompany that chapter. As drawn this map makes a bold cartographic claim for Georgia’s western boundary extending to the Mississippi River. This map shows a great deal of detail including the location of Indian tribes and villages and their allegiances.
