MESDA Saturday Seminar: Piedmont North Carolina Furniture

Back by popular request, a fresh look at furniture of Piedmont North Carolina, offering information from three different perspectives: that of the museum professional, the collector, and the dealer/auctioneer. The seminar celebrates the opening of MESDA’s most recent Douglas Gallery exhibit that will feature important examples of Piedmont North Carolina furniture from MESDA’s permanent collections.

About MESDA Saturday Seminars

MESDA’s Saturday Seminar series presents new insights in Southern Decorative Arts.  This fall’s series will explore the Furniture of Piedmont North Carolina through the eyes of a scholar, a dealer, and a collector on November 13, the Art and Craft of the Gunsmiths of North Carolina on January 29, 2011, and the Mapping of the Early South through the state maps of Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee on March 5, 2011.  Registration for each Saturday Seminar is $65 ($55 for Friends of MESDA or Old Salem); registration two seminars is $120 ($100 for Friends); registration for the complete series is $175 ($145 for Friends).  For more information, or to register, call 336-721-7360, or email MESDAPrograms@oldsalem.org.
