History
Purchased in 1976 from Robert Ray, Cavalier Antiques, Alexandria, Virginia.

Ray said he purchased the chair at auction, south of Fredricksburg, Virginia, just a few days before selling it to the donor. Ray said that he handled 3-4 of these chairs over 30 years, and they all came from the same general location in Virginia.
