Description
Map of North Carolina with the western edge of the state relegated to an inset to fit on a single copper plate. Though William Charles is not identified as the engraver on this map, his name is present on the first plate of this map. Charles is best known for his political cartoons.

DESCRIPTION: Copperplate engraving; tinted with watercolor; inset shows “Western Part of NORTH CAROLINA on the same scale”. Framed in reproduction gold-painted frame.
