Celebrating Frank L. Horton's 100th Birthday

On March 21st, Frank L. Horton, the visionary founder of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts, would have turned 100 years old!  We celebrated Frank’s legacy by asking those who knew him to share their stories.  We’ve archived some of the best stories below.

We also asked friends around the country to celebrate with us by wearing white socks on Frank’s birthday.  It might seem like strange thing to do, but one of Frank’s better-known quirks is that he always wore white socks—no matter what color pants or shoes he had on!  Those pictures were shared on MESDA’s Facebook page and on our Instagram @MESDAGram using the hashtags #WhiteSockWeek and #FLH100.
